Wells on Rajčica, one of the most beautiful natural phenomena of Kliska zagora, are insufficiently known to the public both because of their inaccessibility and because of their mysticism and the fact that they have not been sufficiently explored. The municipality of Klis once reconstructed the tractor road on the forest road that connects Brštanovo, Nisko and Matase in Lećevica with funds financed from the European Union and thus made this piece of paradise more accessible to the entire population.
10 natural wells surrounded by dry stone walls, which are intangible Croatian cultural heritage, have become an indispensable tourist attraction, and along with the arrangement of paths, rest areas and viewpoints in Klis, Solin, Kaštela, Lećevica and Klis, they have rounded off the cycling route in the Split-Dalmatia County.
Very little is known about the Rajčica wells, legend says that the wells were there even before the arrival of the Romans and that they never dried up. Be that as it may, the wells are there, they are intriguing and it is necessary to thoroughly research the entire history and story surrounding the well.
But this source of life in one of the driest parts of the Dalmatian Zagora certainly has its own story that needs to be protected, preserved and told.
