The park is big so there are boats that take you through the lakes. The Great Waterfall is situated in the Lower lakes. The Plitvice Lakes National Park was founded in 1949 and then in 1979 was added to the UNESCO World Heritage register as one of the oldest national parks in Southeast Europe and the largest national park in Croatia. The protected area consists of 16 lakes arranged in cascades connected by 92 waterfalls. At the Plitvice Lakes, all species continue to exist that have already existed before the coming of man so feel free to look around and take pictures of plants and animals you’ll encounter on your tour. A guided tour of the park lasts for about two and a half hours, including both a boat trip and a walking tour. During your free time you can take a walk and explore the park on you own, breathing in the beauty of the nature.
